About this project & Fundraiser:
Dear Grad Student is a Weekly podcast started by Elana Gloger, a 5th year doctoral student, during Summer 2020. You can learn more about Dear Grad Student HERE. Elana came out as bisexual somewhere around 2015-2016, but mostly kept it to herself, close friends, and family. This podcast provided one of the first spaces where Elana has proudly and freely embraced being bisexual. Almost more importantly, this podcast has provided a space for Elana and her guests to embrace all facets of their identities and live as their authentic selves while being badass grad students, post-docs, phds, etc. The hope is that the items sold for this fundraiser will help increase the visibility of LGBTQIA+ folks and the comfortability of those who are LGBTQIA+ folks in academia, science, & beyond.
On September 23rd, 2021, Elana launched the “Bisexual Merch for a Cause” which you can fine here. Following the launch of this collection, Elana received feedback from pan, trans, and other friends who wanted this merch in colors representing other pride flags. After consulting with Twitter, Elana decided to create this merch with the ‘Scientist’ design and to donate 50% of the profits from this collection At all times to The Trevor Project, which provides crisis and suicide intervention services to LGBTQ+ young people.
50% of profits earned for 2021 will be donated; the donation amount will be listed at the top of this page once donated!
